So, I was saying that my night was going really bad becasue of work and things...now things have changed. I am sitting here right now watching "The Office", it is the funniest show in the world. If you haven't seen the office yet than you have to watch it. It's on tuesday nights from 9 till 10 on channel 3 then theres one episode on thursdays nights at 9. Watch It!!!
Well, today has been a very long day! I had school at nine till twelve then work 2:30till 9. I work at the boys and girls club in Ogdensburg. So basically my job could be really easy or really hard, depending on which kids come and how their day went. The worst is on a friday or saturday night, if they have the next day off than usually their off the walls. You never would think some kids could annoy you so much until you have a job like mine. Where the kids are constantly around you asking you if you have a quarter for some chips.

Well I was having some beers with my friends last night. We were trying to think of what the best kind of pizza is when you have some beers in yah. Not that we were hungry but just because (maybe not you guys) everytime we drink it seems like we end up eating pizza when the nights over. So we started naming some places that we enjoyed while having one of those nights! Here we go..Pizza Hut, Big cheese, flackville, chicks, gas station(haha), sbarros, sergis, papa johns, and the list goes on...far on.. Most of the ones I named our from my hometown so only my close friends or local people know of them. We ended up choosing the best ones, being: papa johns, sergis, sbarros, and last a gas station-depending on what gas station and how many we've had.
Critical Reading
A good student will continually develop the ability to read critically. Steps to developing critical reading ability include looking at the topic being read and the issues being addressed. Get a firm idea in your mind of the subject. Ask about the conclusion written by the author. A critical reader will look for the credentials of the author in an attempt to understanding the reasoning.

It is important to remember to look for evidence to support facts. Don’t confuse theory or opinion with facts. See if the author backs up what is written. If the author is basing the article’s or book’s conclusion on faith, you must remember that faith cannot be proven.

When reading the article or book, be aware of the emotional quality of the words. Sometimes an author will use inflammatory language to lead the reader to the desired opinion. A critical reader will analyze the language written to see is it supports the conclusions.

Think about why you may or may not agree with the conclusions reached by the author. Make sure that your opinions are based on the evidence presented, not on your feelings.

A critical reader will try to sift through any manipulation or bias written by an author. All conclusions reached by a critical reader will be based on facts and evidence. A critical reader will consider connections between subjects and ideas when deciding on a final conclusion.

Critical readers search for the truth in writing. As a student hones critical reading skills, the student will become more independent in thinking.
Stress Management
Stress can be a terrible block to student success. Symptoms may show up as physical, mental or social. Your behavior may change for no reason. An increased use of alcohol or drugs may signal stress. Feelings of hopelessness and discouragement may also manifest when under stress.

In order to manage stress, you must analyze the situations, people and happenings that make demands on your life. Learn to recognize stressors before they happen. It is good to know that having a test during a week a term paper is due will put you under stress. You can prepare for the situation. Time management is an important component in managing stress. If you have your calendar and your list on the calendar prioritized, it will help you to cope with stress.

One way to manage stress is to be organized. Analyze your time. Get everything together that you need to accomplish a task. Make sure that the important things are prioritized. If smaller things have to be let go, do it.
See if you can get control of your environment. See who or what is controlling you, and if you can change it, do so. Get out of the situation for a day or two, if necessary.

Give yourself positive feedback. Make sure that your inner dialog is positive and uplifting. Do not be too hard on yourself. Let yourself know how well you are coping with the situation. Take care of yourself. Get enough sleep, usually seven to eight hours a night. Take breaks while you study. Get up and walk around. Get some exercise. Make sure that you eat correctly. Watch your caffeine; it can aggravate stress. Be careful about how much sugar and fat you eat and monitor your alcohol consumption. Avoid escaping stress by drinking or taking medication.

Learn how to relax. You do not have to be busy every minute, even if you have things to do. Learn how to recharge yourself. Sometimes it helps to relieve stress if you do something for others. Do something you enjoy to get your mind off the stressor.

Learn to recognize stress through your body signals. Realize that a lot of stress may lead to more serious medical problems. Don’t isolate yourself. If you are under a lot of stress, it may help to talk with someone about your problem. This can be a friend, a family member or a mentor. If the stress persists and you cannot get beyond it, it may be time to seek help through the counseling center at your school. Remember that stress affects everyone in different ways. Do not be afraid to ask for help.

Have you ever had to disect a pig! Im taking biology 1 right now and I have to take the pig practicum friday. It's not to bad disecting them because they use that stuff that kills the smell, but after awhile that stuff gets bad too. The best part is actually doing the disecting. It's like your giving surgery or something. Although, everyday I have to disect the pig, I can never eat lunch. When I go to put the food to my mouth, I can smell the pig dye or whatever.

It worked out pretty good for me! My last one only had 2gb, this one has 4gb and updated microsoft word. Maybe now I can put it to work on this blog.
Watch Where You're Going!!

So I am watching my friend play madden at his apartment. All of a sudden his lights start to flicker. They never went out until about a half hour later. We think nothing of it because it's nothing new for the electricity to go out. So we go to the window thinking it's the weather or maybe someone is fixing the wires. Come to find out, one of my buddies friends has hit the pole and totaled his car. We ran down and everything was fine health wise, but you know how it is getting in a accident. He had to go through all the cop bullshit and talk to his parents. END OF STORY! Drive Safe!

I Love Thanksgiving!!

Well I had a good Thanksgiving break. All my friends came home, and we had a very fun time. I think every night we had something going on! Then Thanksgiving day I ate so much...this year was the year I ate the most. I didn't eat one thing all day just so I would eat a lot for dinner. I hope everyone else had a good Thanksgiving too.
